The Syrotan Dominion Empty
PostSubject: The Syrotan Dominion   The Syrotan Dominion EmptyTue Dec 11, 2012 4:35 am

Name of Empire: The Syrotan Dominion

Primary Species: Syrotan

Secondary Species('): N/A

Empire Size: Moderate

Population: 21 Billion Units, 50 million directors

Name of Capital/homeworld and other major planets or facilities:

Khaliro - Homeworld
SF-P-1 - Star Forge Prototype 1
Cerayus - Khaliro's sister planet
SF-P-2 - Star Forge Prototype 2

Description of Capital/homeworld and other settlements of note:

Khaliro: Homeworld and base of operations of the Syrotan. Khaliro is a lush forest planet that is now dominated by Syrotan structures. It is currently being mined extensively even after three hundred years after the conversion of the Khalir. There is a shipyard that orbits Khaliro that contains two thirds of the space vessels that the Syrotan are currently manufacturing.

SF-P-1 - The Star Forge Prototype 1 is a 1/4 scale prototype of a star forge. Prototype 1 is in orbit around Khaliro's star and is currently using its solar energy to power experiments. The Prototype 1 is well defended.

Cerayus - Sister planet to Khaliro. Cerayus is located closer to Khaliro's star than Khaliro and is a rocky mostly land world. It's surface is still %40 water, but it contain vast inland deserts and harbors primitive life. Cerayus's lithosphere is constantly being mine in spots with valuable materials. Cerayus also has many factories that dot the surface, churning out large numbers of units and equipment.

Ryolus - Ryolus is the first planet that the Syrotan have reached outside of their home system. Ryolus is a dead rocky planet with a mainly carbon dioxide and nitrogen atmosphere, but contains significant quantities of oxygen as well. The grey colored planet is being used to conduct experiments on new designs of units and ships as well as new technologies. Like most other Syrotan planets, it has an extensive mining operation and has little resources dedicated to it, so the planet does not run out of resources too fast.

SF-P-2 - The second prototype of a star forge. This second prototype is being constructed around Ryolus's star. This 1/3 scale star forge's purpoes is to test the power needed to turn pure energy into matter in large quantities. It's construction has almost completed.

Toruya - A desert world in a star system twice the distance from Khaliro than Ryolus is to Khaliro, the planet is slowly being converted for Syrotan usage. Its star system is the third to be chosen to be converted into a base of operations, though the Syrotan still have patrolling vessels in many surrounding star systems. Toruya currently houses several mining plants and factories.

Government: Technocracy

Name of Leader(s) and deity(s) if Theocracy:

Ty'rus: Ty'rus was the proclaimed leader of the surviving Khalir and thus programmed loyalty from all other Syrotan upon his conversion. Ty'rus rules almost entirely upon logic, but the Star Forge prime directive was set by himself upon his idea of converting the remaining Khalir into Syrotan. He is the Prime Director.

People of importance:

Sca'riuk: Sca'riuk is the Secondary Director under Ty'rus and organizes the entire military, he is rarely seen outside of Khaliro, but like to visit projects that the Syrotan are working on. He is easy to surprise but stays unusually calm and collected in most hectic situations.

Ga'tew: Ga'tew is the Auxiliary Director and the oversees all production and conversion of resources. She is regularly seen in a patrolling ship checking on the status of all civil projects. She is somewhat emotional more than she should be and thus can be upset easily, but can bounce back relatively quickly if given the time.

Economic Type: Utilitarian

Desired Social Perk: Directive: Directors almost unquestionably follow chain of command and cannot break prime directives unless passed an order from the Prime Director himself (basically they are unlikely to rebel and are hard to bribe).

Technology Tree:
The Syrotan employ particle beam weaponry into the array of most of their weaponry, as well as using some lasers. Their particle beams are deadly and cut through many soft materials with ease. Syrotan particle beams are easily overheated and cannot sustain continuous beams for more than a few seconds at most, but have almost perfect accuracy and kill most unprotected enemies instantly.

Syrotan have no problem creating fusion power, many of their units rely on this power and fusion reactors have grown quite small, but still cannot fit on anything smaller than a large Architect.

Communications-wise, Syrotan employ tachyon communications for long distances, but rely on light to communicate over mid range. Units also communicate via an alternating radio-like signal. In addition, each unit has the ability to communicate using infrared light, and that message can be relayed to other units near instantaneously because Syrotan reaction time is near instant.

History:
When the Syrotan became fully independent through the voluntary Khalir conversion, they rapidly expanded their presence on their homeplanet and soon built base structures to dominate the landscape. Using the resources of the now extinct Khalir, they built space vessels capable of interplanetary flight. This allowed them to visit Cerayus, which had barely been explored by living Khalir, the only current presence of Khalir on Cerayus was a small research team consisting of five members. The five members soon died on the world during the plague on Khaliro. Over time, the planet was slowly converted into a mining operation and many small research facilities were built. Several dozen years later, a suitable method of interstellar flight was constructed. By this time, most planets and moons had some sort of Syrotan presence on them. The warp technology they developed was unstable and produced various amounts of radiation, but proper radiation shielding allowed the Syrotan to sit unharmed in their vessels. Indeed the shielding was never perfect and thus some radiation would still leak, but the kinds of radiation that escaped were generally not harmful to the machines.

The first system the Syrotan arrived in contained several rocky worlds and a singular gas giant. The first planet chosen to be built on was named Ryolus. It was a near dead world, its grey surface covered in meteorite impacts. The world had a breathable atmosphere and had a form of single celled life that thrived on the small pockets of water that existed on the world. Over time, this became the center of the research in the Syrotan Dominion, and most research facilities on Cerayus are now dormant or converted into mining depots.

Over time, prototypes for star forges began appearing in blueprint form. Eventually, the first prototype was built in orbit around Khaliro's sun. It provided valuable information that led to the construction of the second prototype. After three years of constant construction, the fifteen kilometer long prototype is almost complete. With this prototype nearing completion, the Prime Director has looked for new goals, to consolidate the Dominion so the work on the star forges can be completed with little interference. Life in the galaxy was likely abundant, and though space faring species were probably unlikely, there was no reason to be unprepared. With this in mind, the Prime Director has deployed several frigates to explore the cosmos.
